Tesamorelin is studied by laboratories for its effects on mimicking the body’s natural growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) and binding to receptors in the pituitary gland, which signals it to produce and release more growth hormone. This increase in growth hormone then raises insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) production in the liver, which helps regulate metabolism and tissue function.
